Over the Easter weekend our daughter Beth, her husband Chris, and our grandchildren Tabitha and Simon came for a visit.  We all had a wonderful time.  We had surprises, laughs, and lots of hugs.  Here is a photo of Tabitha when she was sitting in Simon’s bathtub.  Why didn’t they have bathtubs like this when I was small?

Two mornings, Tabitha worked with Gramps in the office.  She would “type” on the computer keyboard while he wrote in long hand what she told him.  She was doing her “work” and it entailed writing down what she planned to do for the day.  I thought that her list of things to do was rather brilliant.  We all should follow her list and maybe our days would go better.  Here is the list for Day One:

  • Check on Mommy and Simon.
  • Take a walk.
  • Take a nap.
  • Play make believe.
  • Make ten phone calls.
  • Have lunch.
  • Feed Duck, Goose, Bunny, and Turtle (her stuffed animal friends).
  • Call Daddy.
  • Sneeze!
  • Work on computer.
  • Go to the playground.
  • Eat dinner.
  • Have snacks.
  • Have an egg hunt.
  • Drink grapefruit soda.
  • Tickle Nanna’s toes.

The list for Day Two was shorter but no less important:

  • Wear a clown nose.
  • Be a pirate.
  • Fly home on the airplane.
  • Listen to Mommy.
  • Take some snacks.

If you want to have a good day, ask a three year old how to proceed.

Create and be happy!
