Emeril Lagasse is a celebrity chef known for his big personality. What do you think that his New York City home would look like? Would it be a recreation of New Orleans color and style with primary colors? Recently, his Upper East Side Townhouse went on the real estate market. It was featured on HGTV’s Selling New York. That is where I first saw it and I was taken with the quiet elegance in every room.
The tone on tone is not what I expected. After a busy day in New York City, what family wouldn’t want to come home to soothing interiors. With a nod to French decorating and New Orleans style it is perfect.
Of course a chef would want a stunning place to dine. From the patterned ceiling to the herring bone parquet floor this dining room is truly subtle elegance. I can only imagine the treasures behind the large amoire. Is there crystal and silver and immaculately starched linen?
The next photo is of the heart of the home…the kitchen. My guess is that he does cook for his family here.
In this four shot, we see the living room, the dining room with two different chairs and without the amoire (as were pictured above in the dining room picture), a casual dining room two steps below the kitchen, and a family room on the top floor with a huge sky light.
